Description

"GSCHEIDLE stamp": "summer Olympic Games 1980 in Moscow", not issued surtax-postal stamp "60 plus 30 penny", outstanding quality with postmark "Wildbad in the Black Forest 1a, 21.12.82". Due to of the Boycott of the Olympic Games in Moscow through the western world because of the Russian invasion in Afghanistan became the stamp no longer issued and the first issue of 30. 000 copies officially destroyed. All so far discovered stamps comes from the asset of the former Alliance postmaster general Kurt Gscheidle. They were erroneously for the private correspondence his family pasted up and unrecognized cancelled. The most prominent stamp of the German postwar Philately! Photo expertize Hans Dieter Schlegel (2001, "the condition is perfect. ") and photo expertize Andreas Schlegel BPP (2021) : "the quality is perfect. ". Annotation to the rarity: until today 24 cancelled examples of this stamp have become known, of it a strip of three on piece, a Gewinnspielpostkarte and three covers. From the 17 residual cancelled stamps respectively letter pieces are by our knowledge the majority with small defects (short perfs, thin places, rubbings and so on). The here shown copy is one of the few entirely flawless pieces and was the crown for each Germany or Olympic Games topic collection.
