1914-19, First Peking printing, $2 black and blue, center
inverted (Chan 245a. Scott 237a), a stunning example from the
top right corner of the sheet with complete selvedge on two sides,
deep bright colors, characteristically centered to lower left
within large margins, unused with full original gum, stamp never
hinged, hinged in margin only. Extremely Fine. Of peerless quality,
and one of the most notable and desirable examples of this rare
variety.
Only two sheets of fifty (100 stamps) were printed with the
center inverted.
Although a number of marginal examples are known, this is believed
to be one of only two surviving corner examples.
