Kenya, Uganda and Tanganyika. 1954-59 Watermark Multiple Script CA Issue. Essays and Proofs. 1954 group of six superb entirely hand-painted stamp-sized essays on buff card affixed to black card, in unadopted designs each bearing the country name and the Queen's profile and with the 5c. depicting a Rhino, the 10c. the Owen Falls Dam, the 30c. an Elephant, the 5/- Wakamba Drums, the 10/- a Lion and the £1 a Nandi Warrior; each essay meticulously and painstakingly hand-coloured and with further details picked out in Chinese white; truly outstanding and unique items, each essay a major exhibition piece displaying the sheer craftsmanship of the De la Rue artists.
