1915 picture post card of Gibeon, endorsed 'On Active Service' to
Natal with a blue boxed Field Post Office handstamp number '37',
dated 16 MAY 1915. The card was written on May 5 at Gibeon but only
entered the postal service 11 days later at KUIBIS which is where
this F.P.O. was located. In Putzel's book 'Postmarks of German
South West Africa etc' on page 516 he mentions this card and
implies that this card could disprove the F.P.O. being at Kuibis !
However on page 299 under Kuibis, he states that the F.P.O. there
opened on 14 May, so it is more than likely that F.P.O. 37 was
there. He rates this handstamp as rare.

1902 picture post card (farmers at cattle auction) to Germany with
a 5pf tied by a violet KAPENOUSSEU Wanderstempel (Putzel A4a, 4000
points) with the town name 41mm long. A Lautenthal 19 10 02 arrival
c.d.s. is on the front of the card. Kapenousseu was a short lived
town name, the post office opening in November 1901 and then
changing its' name to Waldau on 1 March 03. A good example of this
Wanderstempel.
