comprehensive study of the town of Grasmere - it's history,
geography and place in history - achieved on mounted display pages
using mainly PPCs supplemented by a few photographs, reproduction
cards and a small number of well-chosen pieces of ephemera. In
addition to a comprehensive review of the topography and layout of
Grasmere, Dove Cottage and the church (interior, exterior and
worshippers), the pages inc. images of the rush-bearing festival
c.1910 in both original and repro. (usually John Marsh) cards,
various sports events, hotels in and around the town (some
advertising cards), local celebrities, very local landmarks,
vehicles, etc. Many are real photo types and all in very fine
condition. An absorbing collection which would be difficult to
