Descripción
Iceland, 1902-03, 25a Yellow Brown & Blue "I GILDI" Overprint in Black, Perf 13 (57; Facit 56). Post Setting, sheet Position 58, original gum, two h.r.'s, rich colors VERY FINE EXAMPLE OF ONE OF THE RAREST OF ALL THE "I GILDI" OVERPRINTS - SCOTT NO. 57 AND FACIT NO. 56. Not only is the 25a Black Overprint Perf 13 one of the rarest stamps of Iceland, this example comes from the 1903 Post Setting, which has not yet been fully plated. Only seventeen have been recorded to date. This is the first example of Scott No. 56 that we have offered since our 1993 Rarities of the World Sale. Signed A. Diena. With 1994 Svendsen certificate.
