Germany, Offices in China, 1900, 50pf Purple & Black on Salmon, Tientsin Handstamp (22; Michel 13). Mint N.H. top right corner sheet selvage with value "50,00" at top, impressively well-centered, deep rich colors on fresh paper, previously folded horizontally along perfs at top causing a few perf separations which have since been expertly reattached for preservation, small thin and wrinkling in selvage of little concern EXTREMELY FINE. A SENSATIONAL MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 50-PFENNIGS WITH TIENTSIN PROVISIONAL HANDSTAMP. THIS IS THE ONLY EXAMPLE WITH CORNER SHEET SELVAGE AND ONE OF FEW NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLES STILL IN EXISTENCE. without doubt, the finest example available to collectors. Ex Sir Percival David. Light expert signature on gum. With 1970 Bothe, 2000 Jakubek, and 2018 Jaschke-Lantelme certificates. Scott $45,000. Michel €60,000
