Lot 374 D Old German States Bavaria

  • Michel5 c, Frankeich 4
Description

Ulrich Schmitt (T)

Automatically generated translation:
1850 / 1852, 9 kreuzer light green, along with France 25 Centimes dark blue, both stamps tied by millwheel postmark "159", on folded letter with semicircle posting stamp KISSINGEN, 4 / 8 (1852), to Chandai in France, on face one-line cancel 'P. D. ' in black and border transit postmark BAVIERE / FORBACH, 8. AOUT. 52 in red, reverse two transit postmark PARIS 60, 8. AOUT. 52 in red and black. The 9 kreuzer stamp on all sides having full to wide margins, the 25 Centimes stamp above touched, otherwise full margins, the letter in total in fresh and neat condition. The Bavarian postage share of the letter up to French border was 9 kreuzer, the stamp to 25 Centimes corresponds the at that time Inlandsbriefgebühr inside France. Probably had the French sender on his journey through in Bavaria the postage stamp its Heimatlandes brought along and unopposed as additional franking on the letter fixed. It is a matter thus about a genuine, post office-laterally acknowledged and according to the tariff two countries mixed franking of prime rarity. Another, such letter from this period is so far unknown. ALLERGRÖß TE rarity the classic philately from Germany and France! Attest Pfenniger and photo expertize Joh. Ulrich Schmitt (T)
