"10" LONDON (DiAMOND NUMERAL): 4d rose-carmine "VIctoria", well perforated with diamond cancellation "10" LONDON on cover to Gustav Charchy, Grand Hotel du Louvre in Paris, France. Additionally, French transit double circle postmark "ANGL., AME. CALAIS B, 19 NOV 61", red "PD" and on the backside of the letter Fancy Geometric Postmark "LONDON, NO 18 61". In the 1860s, Mr Charchy lived in London (16, Mincing-lane) and held business contacts in France. He had a Partnership with Etienne Ernest Boulan, Wine Merchants, of Bordeaux (No. 24, Cours du Jardin Public) that lasted until July 1864.
