1911 picture post card with a Cape ½d cancelled SENEKAL 27 AUG 11.
On the front of the card is an arrival strike of the very rare JAN
FOURIES KRAAL SP 1 11 single circle datestamp. This postal agency
was on a farm 21 miles west of Outshoorn in the Eastern Cape. All
that is known of this postal agency is it opened in 1881 and had a
numeral '310' canceller issued to it. A very rare canceller and the
first time I have seen it !

1907 ½d on a picture post card to Grahamstown cancelled EMGWALI NO

Emgwali was a small village that grew up around the Glasgow Mission

this village really is “in the middle of nowhere”, 90 miles east of
Queenstown and 130 miles north of East London. A good strike of
this uncommon canceller.
