The Second Opium War. The Final Northern Campaign. French Postal Bureau. Canton (Bureau C): 1860 (30 Nov.) envelope to Devant les Ponts bearing imperf. Napoleon 20c. (good to very large margins) tied by a neat strike of "CECC" in lozenge with a fine strike of "corps exp. chine/bau c" despatch c.d.s. alongside and a light strike of boxed "PD" in red; the flap is signed by the commanding officer and with two French transit c.d.s. (27.1). Mail from this bureau in Canton is rare, this being a very early example
