144th Ulrich Felzmann Auction - Numismatic

The highlights of the coin auction include rarities from China, prize Habsburg specimens and exceptional gold coins from the early modern period onwards. Among the high-quality range of Chinese philately on offer is one of the limited “silver panda” coins, of which only 99 were minted in 1994. A genuine unique specimen is a “Queen Emma” chain of 5 German New Guinea marks from 1894. The piece of jewellery, which consists of twelve coins plus two further extension links, comes from the estate of major landowner Emma Forsayth-Coe. Bidding is due to start at €13,000.

145th Ulrich Felzmann Auction - Austria Special Philately

This special auction will feature philatelic rarities from Austria. The main attraction of the auction is a unique specimen from the 2008 Vienna International Stamps Exhibition (WIPA). Bidding for the unique “10 Krone Jubilee” 25-stamp sheet (unfolded, original gum), will start at €75,000. The “Felix Austria” auction will feature pieces of Austrian postal history from the days of the Empire (Kaiserreich) to rare varieties of modern-day post and of Austrian airmail. In addition to catapult and rocket post, the focus will be on Zeppelin mail covers pertaining to Austrian contract mail.

The China commences with two great classic collections: the second part of the extensive and important study of the Large Dragons issue cancellations formed by the late Wen Sun Kong and a further portion of Huang Ming-Jeng's International Grand Prix Exhibit of 19th Century Imperial Postal History.

An important section of Ching Dynasty is highlighted by an outstanding example of the Red Revenue Small One Dollar.

Republic of China includes a magnificent array of essays and proofs and an extensive range of stamps, including both the Hall of Classics $2 inverted centre and the 1923 2c. on 3c. inverted surcharge. The Chinese Provinces feature an outstanding collection of Sinkiang postal history. The sale includes a specialised Postal History section and superb Postal Stationery.

Taiwan features five fabulous 1884-85 covers from the early Customs Post in Southern Taiwan and a very fine collection of Flying Geese issues.
