Termiten-Brief 19o6: WINDHUK DSWA "a" 5/8 o6, rs. als Ak.-Stempel neben vorder- und rückseitig angebrachtem Gummi-Typensatzstempel "Sendung stammt aus einer am 4.d.Mts. bei Okasise aufgefundenen Briefpost, die teilweise von Termiten beschädigt worden ist. Die näheren Umstände sind noch nicht bekannt, Windhuk, 5.August 19o6. Postamt." auf eingehendem Dienstbrief Germania 1o Pfg. mit Avers-Stempel sowie Entwertung LIEGNITZ 27/3 bzw. 28/3 o6 an das Kaiserl.Bezirksamt Windhuk. Der Brief ging an Bord des Dampfers "Ernst Woermann" am 3o.3.o6 ab Hamburg und befand sich in dem Postbeutel, welcher mit der Bahn von Swakopmund nach Windhuk am 27.4.19o6 befördert wurde. In der Nähe von Okasise fiel jener Postsack vom Waggon und wurde erst am 4.August 19o6 nach langer Suche gefunden. Die hierin enthaltenen Postsachen waren mehr oder weniger stark von Termiten angefressen. Um die Schäden und die verzögerte Zustellung zu erklären, stempelte das Postamt Windhuk die Belege mit dem hier gleich doppelt angebrachten Typensatzstempel ab. Qualitativ der schönste der bisher durch unser Haus angebotenen Belege dieser Art (8o.Auktion, Los 5299 und 88.Auktion, Los 4514), Fotoattest Steuer BPP.
